Christopher was born on the Island of O’ahu and grew up in the rainforest. He attended Punahou School in Honolulu and then completed his undergraduate degree at Columbia University in the City of New York. His life’s work has been focused on preserving the culture he grew up with in the Hawaiian Islands.
Christopher has given years of his life to international aid work, which informed his innovations around circular economies and community resilience. Since then, he and his family have been heavily invested in data and food systems in Hawai’i and rural education in West Africa.
Christopher is a passionate conservationist, lover of nature, and photographer who has been supporting coral reef restoration efforts in Hawai’i and beyond. As a photographer, he documented coral restoration projects, has been a witness to global environmental devastation, and has understood the transformational impact of reconnecting humanity with nature.
Christopher began his international aid work at age nineteen, helping with AIDS outreach and teaching children how to read at a Liberian refugee settlement. He then taught a variety of subjects in rural villages in developing countries, supported conservation efforts and biological research in the Amazon Rainforest, taught in Rikers Island prison in New York, and volunteered with a number of charities and organizations dedicated to planetary wellbeing.
Christopher has been to the front lines and seen a wide spectrum of humanity’s problems, as well as the opaque nature of the global aid system. At the start of his international aid work, it became obvious to him that there is a great disparity between the efficacy and the accountability of the planet’s aid organizations.
Christopher’s deep commitment to ethical, regenerative business and community resilience allows him to be a common point of trust during business deals, community work, and disaster response. The intersection and integration of ethics, traditions, and technology has been of deep interest to him.
